Shooting MEC Match #7
-Shot on Scatt and Megalink as I will be using Scatt file to submit for Scatt Match #2 and Megalink for MEC Mat ch #7.
-Stretched before shooting. Did about 10 extra reps of 1st half of shot plan before getting into sighters.
-Position felt pretty good going into match.
-1st string was a little slower than I wanted but otherwise felt like it was supposed to. Doing the additional reps definitely seemed to help with warming up enough for match.
-2nd and 3rd string felt like my NPA was to the left of target so I adjusted angle of back foot as well as paid close attention to back and arm position but it didn't seem to make a difference. by end of 3rd string, I decided to get completely out of position and back in to try and reset and hopefully get NPA more inline with target. Kind of seemed to help in 4th string, but 5th and 6th strings went back to feeling terrible and NPA being left of target no matter what I did. Tried adjusting hips as well as left arm because they felt a bit different than the beginning of match.
-Plus out of all this, whatever weird position I was in, my back felt fine the whole time. Negative is obviously this position isn't conducive to good quality shooting. Did feel the slight soreness in my back in 1st string like I have been since adjusting back foot more parallel with right foot and support arm more left. But after that string, I didn't really have the same feeling in my back as the last few weeks. Unfortunately didn't figure out how to get correct position back by end of match so score was definitely reflective of the issues I was experiencing.
-Difficulties with position also showed up in Scatt session. As calibration was pretty much spot on for 1st string, but every string after that had to make small adjustments so it would line up with what Megalink was scoring. And even then, it would only be within .4 most of the time.
-Also by about 3rd string, feet started to feel a bit sore. By end of match feet were more sore than they have been the last little while but it is to be expected as this is the 1st session where I have shot more than 50-60 shots (including warm up) so endurance has gone down a little bit. But after last shot and as I was getting out of my position, right foot cramped really bad (This is the foot with the pinched nerve) so even though feet were a little more sore than usual (not enough to pull focus while shooting), they really rebelled after shooting was done.
-Only 1 or 2 shots where sharpness of target/sights went blurry as I was taking shot (Was too far into 2nd stage of trigger pull to reset)
-Not sure how I could have fixed the issues I was encountering. Very frustrating when practice on Thursday was feeling very smooth and showing good progress that should have resulted in a much better performance, therefore score.
